真的,就像姝卉说的,一回家之后人都不见了,就像蒸发了一样.可能都在忙着准备考试吧. 嗯,今天我在我的书架中发现了一套高一(which is roughly equivalent to our Sec4 or JC1)的textbook. 有EL CL Maths Phy and Chem. I just flip through them and the EL textbook caught my eyes immediately. and now, since i'm bored, i shall quote a paragraph from the text just for your reference:

"In 1860, Abraham Lincoln became President of the United States. Then he worked still harder for the freedom of the slaves. But the Southern states wanted to set up a country of their own, where they would be free to keep black slaves. Lincoln said that it was not right for the South to break away from the Union. Fighting broke out between the two. This was the American Civil War, which lasted four years. In the end the North won. Northern and Southern states joined up again as one coutry and the slaves were set free."

and below are some questions for this paragraph:

"Why did the American Civil War break out? How long did the war last? What happened after the war ended in 1864?"
